Meanwhile, Finn's lost his way as a guide dog after flunking his test for being too friendly and easily distracted. Sadly, only one of them can earn unemployment, so Maureen's facing a winter of discontent in Boston--when she realizes she can't afford her apartment.
Salvation comes when she receives a mysterious inheritance: an inn in Haven, Florida. A quaint, scenic town on the Gulf of Mexico hidden away from the theme parks, Maureen believes it's a good place to make a fresh start with a new business venture. But she gets more than she bargained for when she finds a dead body on her property--and meets some of the inn's everlasting tenants in the form of ghosts who offer their otherworldly talents in order to help her solve the mystery...
BOOK REVIEW
Maureen and Finn move to Florida after someone she doesn't know leaves her an old inn in Haven, Florida. Her first impression is of a place that needs new customers to keep it running. Many famous people have visited in the past and, according to the resident ghost, still show up from time to time. After a man is found dead, Maureen begins searching for the killer. Be My Ghost is ideal for those just starting out in mystery and paranormal great characters, great writing, great setting, an extremely hilarious atmosphere. I loved that the protagonist's faithful companion is a dog. The story resolves very quickly and I think for all readers it becomes obvious who the killer is. One of the points is that I really don't like the third person narration but that doesn't change my opinion at all.
ARC received for an honest opinion. Thank you Kensington Publishing C., author and Netgalley for the opportunity to read the book in advance.
