The Sweetest Thing By Maya Hughes - ARC REVIEW

THE SWEETEST THING REVIEW

Author: Maya Hughes Note: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Coming July 1th

Goldilocks has gotten a bit off track. I found her in my room, my bathroom and my bathtub to be precise.

Sabrina Mason is my new roommate. My new unwelcome roommate. Babysitting my Grandma's apartment means Sabrina's here to stay. But we'd agreed my room was off limits.

It’s bad enough my nightmares are getting worse, but having her around makes holding it together a little easier. Her smell, smart mouth and sexy a--anyway. I can’t let her get under my skin although it might be too late. In her sloppy bun and pajamas curled up on the couch, she’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. But a relationship isn’t what I need right now.

It’s hard to remember that when she’s glowering at me when I’m being an ass. We’re forced to live together for only a few more months, I can hold out until I can’t.

She’s in my bathtub and she’s not telling me to leave. So I ask the question, “do you want me to go?”

And I’m shocked as hell when her answer isn’t ‘yes’.

A little bit of steamy standalone grumpy roommate romance bliss. The laughs and feels are all here in this forced proximity, enemies to lovers story featuring the best in found family, a hero standing up for the woman he's falling for and a happily ever after.

BOOK REVIEW

I loved how deep and emotional and very funny the story was at the same time. It's hard not to get involved or feel what the characters feel, Hunter touched me in a different way with his life story and he's definitely my favorite male character from Maya Hughes, Man, every Sabrina in the book is amazing and badass, and the one in this book is no different struggling to find a temporary place after a difficult breakup she ends up sharing Hunter's grandmother's apartment with him and we clearly see her struggle in the professional and personal sphere, how independent she is and fights for her goals. I loved that every book by the author always has a crossover with some other book series of the same here in this case Fulton U. Will we have something more involving Fulton U and Ryder? STFU? I hope so because he has everything to be explored in a story of his own with his point of view and his attempts with his brother. After the first sex scene in the book the coincidences flashed in my mind and I just thought wow this is going to be a really good drama and the author managed to write it really well making us feel every second in the skin. Despite having a great emotional charge, the reading is light and easy to understand, the story is complete and there are no errors or unworked points. As always, the author delivers a wonderful work.

Thanks again Maya and Karen for the opportunity to read the book in advance. Received ARC for an honest review!!!.
